Encrypted RS485

The EasySecure decoder is a data encryption and authentication device for read-only readers. This smart interface converts Secure RS485 channel into plain Wiegand or Clock&Data to be easily interfaced with existing access control systems.

Simplified technical migrations.

The EasySecure interface allows data encryption and authentication for high-security and Bluetooth® read-only readers, by converting RS485 secure communication into a plain Wiegand, Data / Clock or RS485 communication compatible with the management system. Both the EasySecure smart interface and STid’s readers ensure confidentiality and integrity of communication between the reader and the system.

Higher level of security guaranteed.

The EasySecure interface secures the communication between reader and safe zone through data encryption (AES) and authentication procedure (HMAC-SHA1). Two versions are available:

  • RS485 encrypted -> TTL (Wiegand or Data/ Clock) plain mode.
  • RS485 encrypted -> RS485 plain mode

Seamless integration.

The use of the interface is transparent because it transmits all the data in plain mode to the system. Compatible with the RS485 STid range of secure readers, the decoder inherits the configuration parameters of the reader to which it is connected. Installed in a protected area, it uses RS485 serial communication with the reader to allow flexible and easy wiring.
